Dentures & Dental Implants
Dentures are prosthetic devices designed to replace missing teeth and surrounding oral tissues. They are custom-made to fit the unique contours of each patient's mouth and provide support for facial muscles, restoring a more natural and youthful appearance. Dentures can be classified into two main types:
- Complete Dentures: Complete dentures are used to replace an entire arch of missing teeth, whether it be the upper or lower jaw. They consist of a set of artificial teeth mounted on an acrylic base that sits on the gum tissue.
- Partial Dentures: Partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain in the mouth. They are designed to fill in the gaps left by missing teeth and are often secured in place using metal or acrylic clasps that attach to the remaining natural teeth.
Pediatric dentistry is a specialized branch of dentistry that focuses on the oral health of children, from infancy through adolescence.
